Why you need these top 10 oils in your home

So you’re thinking of joining DoTerra and buying some oils but you just don’t know where to start!  What are they for? How do I use them?

Take one oil, hold in your hands, breathe it in and connect with it. See what words come up for you, what images or emotions; Use this oil throughout the day, and then go on to the next.

Have a play with them in your diffuser, 2-4 drops of each of a few oils of your choice and see how they feel for you.

The king of oils

I personally use this every day without fail, to really boost my day in every way. A Fantastic anti ageing oil, add a few drops to your favourite face cream.
It boosts the immune system and help us to have a healthy connection the our father and to our masculine energy. It also cleanses spiritual darkness and aids spiritual awakening. Not by chance this was given to Christ by the 3 kings and is used in church to cleanse the air…

Emotional Use – Reveals deceptions and false truths. helps us to let go of lower vibrations, lies, deceptions and negativity. When one has felt abandoned or forgotten, frankincense reminds them they are loved and protected.  Positive Properties –Enlightened, loved, protected, wisdom, discerning, spiritually open, connected to father



One of my all time favourites. You can spray a little lavender,  mixed with water on your pillow for a good nights sleep,  or put a few drops on the bottom of your feet. It is a fabulous oil for relaxing and unwinding, as an effective insect repellant

Emotional uses: Lavender aids verbal expression and calming of the mind. It addresses the deep fear of being seen and heard.  People who need lavender, block their true self expression. Great for keeping alert, I use it on the back of my neck when driving long distance. Beats Red Bull hands down and so much better for the body. It is also great to aid breathing and colds. It’s also deliciously divine in a chocolate cake to make a choc mint cake! Sheer heaven.

Emotional Uses: invigorates the body, mind and spirit and reminds individuals that life can be happy and they dont have to be controlled by fear. Positive Properties: Buoyant, optimistic, relieved, strength to face emotional pain

The most powerful antibacterial and anti viral oil. Protects against germs and seasonal threats, as well as a great aid for warts. There is a fabulous video on the Oregano versus antibiotics here

Emotional Use: Removes Blocks, clears negativity and cuts away negative attachments. Positive properties: Humble, non attachment, willing, teachable, flexible

Melaleuca (Tea Tree)

Another fabulous oil for antibacterial properties, this oil has often been used in care for problem skin and acne. My daughter puts a dab on her spots when they appear and it works a treat. It is also great for taking the itchiness out of insect bites

Emotional Use: Disinfectant by nature, tea tree clears negative energetic baggage.
Releases co-dependant and parasitic relationships.
Encourages individuals to relinquish all forms of self-betrayal, including allowing others to take advantage of one’s time, energy or talents, not standing up for oneself or feeling responsible for other people’s problems

I cannot live without this oil! I have it at hand in my kitchen at all times, to use 1 drop on my dishcloth for wiping down surfaces, as lemon is a natural antibacterial and leaves such a fresh smell in the air. Clean the fridge and microwave with it too  to get rid of nasty smells. Add it to cakes for a lemon flavour. I also take 1 drop in a glass of water every morning to energise and boost my immune system

I have an image of this as the Riot police of oils! With their plastic shields up, it guards against bacteria and germs,another great one for cleansing as well as diffusing in the air when there are those wintry bugs around. It is also available in the ON Guard Range in the form og toothpaste, hand wash and throat drops for sore throats (OMG they work miracles!)

Wild Orange Peel, Clove Bud, Cinnamon Bark, Eucalyptus Leaf/Stem, and Rosemary Leaf/Flower essential oils for immune support

A fabulous oil for sinuses; stuffy noses. As the name suggests, Air allows you to breathe again! Diffuse it for cleaner air, also available as sweets to suck or as a vapour stick for colds

This is a blend of Laurel Leaf, Eucalyptus Leaf, Peppermint Plant, Melaleuca Leaf, Lemon Peel, Cardamom Seed, Ravintsara Leaf, Ravensara Leaf essential oils

A fabulous oil for muscle aches and pains after sport or for bad backs (thing Deep Heat). It is asl available as a roll on or as a gorgeous balm. Physiotherapists love this oil and balm as do sports enthusiasts

Blend of Wintergreen, Camphor, Peppermint, Ylang Ylang, Helichrysum, Blue Tansy, Blue Chamomile, and Osmanthus work together to soothe and cool

Emotional Uses: Used for physical pain, but can also assist individuals who are resisting or avoiding the emotions that underlie their physical pain.  It offers strength to face emotional  wounds, allowing the wounds to surface for transformation and healing. Positive Properties:   Strengthened, accepting, soothed, serene, healing

Digest Zen


As the name implies, the oils helps with digestive issues. One drop in a glass of water is enough to help bad digestion, diarrhea, constipation, travel sickness..Rubbed around the navel it is also an incredible support for sinus issues ( the stomach and sinuses are connected)- believe le I suffer from sinuses and this works! Also available in chewable form or ready swallow gels
